What About You? (Sunday Quick Questions #17)

[New ‘featured image’ (above) to look for on Sunday Quick Questions!]

We answer ‘quick questions’ here on I Tripped Over a Stone on Sundays.

Why?

Because… I blog. I get sick of me. I want to hear from you!

Don’t think, just answer!

  1. Have you ever been on a Ferris wheel?
  2. Have you ever had a scary reoccurring dream (what was the threat)?
  3. Do you like to canoe?

  1. Yes.
  2. Yes! Being chased by someone I couldn’t see, each dream I’d get a bit further but the dream always ended when I’d get shot. Terrifying.
  3. Yes! Love it!

  1. 1. Yes, but it broke down and I got stuck at the top for an hour.
    2. Yes. Just last week my recurring dream was that Spurs – an English football I really don’t like – would win the final of the Champion’s League. Best moment – the lost in the final last night. Happy days.
    3. Never tried.

    1. George! Oh no. Only you could be on a Ferris wheel and have it break down! I’d have had a nervous breakdown! I’m THAT scared of heights! 😂🤣😂 reoccurring football dreams… then a win! What could be better? One day you will meet the perfect canoe and try it out… thanks George!😊

      1. This is true. I once got halfway up The Eiffel Tower only to look down at the wrought iron steps and saw that I could see through them. I froze at first then aborted the mission. At the bottom I though I’d get an ice cream. I worked out it cost me £10 in UK money – that was about 10 years ago when still at school. Not a good day ~ George

            1. You are the furthest thing from an idiot. Love the song! The Devil’s Kiss. George, I’ve never purchased anything from these sites you are on. When you purchase, does it download to iTunes or a separate file on your computer? Do you need any specific software to play the song? How do I purchase and download songs from you??? I think many would love to know!

  2. 1. I liked Ferris Wheels when I was much younger before I developed a fear of heights. I have a terrifying story about the last very small Ferris wheel I was on but I’ve only told my closest friend what happened.
    2. Oh lau, had to look back at the question…fog is heavy this morning…Oh yeah. Recurring dream when I was around six years old that I could fly. Backwards. In a room. It was the most exhilarating feeling of strength and speed and power and uniqueness or even separateness.
    3. Canoe canoe? I don’t know. I’d rather ride on the pontoon 🙂

    1. Sherry! I developed a fear of heights too! But not when I was young… omg- A terrifying Ferris wheel story… I’m all ears if you ever want to share. (Hope you were ok and nothing tragic happened.) Flying backwards, cool! THAT is a very cool reoccurring dream!!! Oh! The pontoon… I get that, see ya canoe! Thanks Sherry! 😊

  3. Yes. Made me sick. I’ve never been on one since.
Yes. I often dream that I’ve turned up late for a professional musical engagement and found someone else taking my place. They’re often very accommodating and offer me their instrument but then I discover that I don’t know any of the repertoire and we’re on in five minutes.
Yes. I’m not a natural in water but I enjoyed it. I just made sure I didn’t dwell on what would happen if I capsized.

    1. I think Ferris wheeling may not be your cup of tea!😊 THAT reoccurring nightmare is horrible! I could just about feel your dismay. Not cool! The capsizing canoe… very rare but it does happen. That really scares me too, I can’t swim! Luckily I’ve never had THAT happen… now I’m a bit freaked out!😂🤣😂🤣

  4. 1- Yes. And I always wanted to be kissed at the top as a teenage girl but the boys were always too scared to ask.

2- Yes. I was little and it was a dream that a sinkhole would open up in front of me and I wouldn’t be able to keep from falling in.

3- I do love to canoe. I haven’t in ages but it’s so relaxing! Sigh.

    1. So romantic… kissed at the top. Awe. A sink hole! That would really be frightening! Not joking. That’s a scary reoccurring dream. It is so relaxing! Especially when I don’t have to paddle, just man the beer cooler… ahhhh… many canoe trips with my friends.😊💜

  5. 1. Yes, quite a few – brave since I don’t like heights, but at least they are slow and gentle, unlike roller coasters.
    2. I have dreamed regularly since I was about fifteen and still do ( even though I’m a grandmother ), that I’m pregnant. When I was actually expecting my real babies I would dream I had given birth and forgotten where I had put them!
    3. Canoing only at school camps.

    1. Ferris wheels! Cool. Oh my what a dream to have reoccurring! Especially forgetting where you put the baby! Panic! Yes, camp schools is where I learned to canoe ‘properly’ with three points of contact at all times with the canoe! Memories! Thanks, Janet!😊

  6. 1. Vaguely remember going on one when I was younger. Wouldn’t mind going on one now, providing it’s a sturdy-looking one!
    2. Yes, I’ve actually had a couple of recurring dreams/nightmares. Ugh, horrible.
    3. I’ve only been once, about 10 years ago with people from work. For the most part, I loved it! I just wasn’t so keen when the guys had had a few beers and decided water fights and attempting to jump canoes was a good idea (as I was Ms Sensible, no drinking as I was a designated driver, and too scared to rock the boat, literally!)

    1. I only go on the basket ones now! No more of the chair ones, like I used to ride when I was little. Too scary! The reoccurring nightmares suck pond water! Jumping canoes and water fights aren’t my idea of canoeing. A few beers, sure, but water and getting wasted do not mix. I could just picture lil Miss Sensible, “this is not OK, Dave, Doug… enough!” Thanks Caz😊💜

  7. 1) Oh, ferris wheels! Man that brings back memories going waaaaayyyy back! Oh, Kim, now I’m going to have to find time to write about a few of my experiences at the State Fair of Texas! Sigh.
    2) I’m not sure if it’s a recurring “bad” dream. I think it is. It has to do with a house that I’ve never lived in, but I’m in it and I think bad things happen in it (as in demon-type bad things.) Anyway, when I dream, I find myself there from time-to-time. Usually my bad dreams have to do with supernatural entities coming after me (like demons.) Geez, did I just reveal too much or what?
    3) I’ve been in a canoe once. I can mark that off my bucket list. Thankfully, I didn’t end up in the water; but I thought I was going to! I was with my daughter at camp. No thanks.

    1. Dust off the fairy dust and write about the fair! Yes, Mona, that’s a reoccurring NIGHTMARE!!! Reveal… continue to reveal to me…! 😂🤣😂 I think we bump elbows with demons everyday! Some people…SMH! Many camping memories involve canoes. The good, bad and ugly! No more canoeing for you! Got it! Thanks Mona!😊💜

  8. 1. Yes! I love them! And adore amusement parks!
    2. Never a recurring scary dream except for the proverbial needing to run, for whatever reason, and not being able to move. The scariest dream I have ever had was a lucid dream and incredibly real. I was driving over water, accidentally went over the edge and knew I was going to drown as my SUV was being submerged in the water. Just before I awoke, I suddenly realized I had the power to lower the window and escape. No dream has ever been more real and I can still “feel” every bit of that dream.
    3. I have never had the opportunity to be in a canoe. But I wouldn’t mind putting it on the list. See Jayne Canoe!

    1. Ferris wheel, cool! Amusement parks… awe, I haven’t been in years! OMG- scary dream! Actually going into the water and feeling it. Whoa… I’d have had a real heart attack! One day I hope to “see Jayne canoe”!!! Love that! Thanks, Jayne!😊🎉

  9. 1. Yes, ferris wheels are fun!
    2. I have a recurring dream where someone I love is hurt and I can’t get to them. I also have recurring dreams where it’s discovered that somehow I was short a credit in high school and have to go back (despite now having a bachelor’s and law degrees), and I’m the only 40 year old (obviously) at my Catholic all girls high school. I also a recurring high school dream where I can’t get my locker open and the bell rung and I’m going to get Saturday detention for being late. High school must have been a stressful time for me 🙂
    3) Never been on a canoe, but love kayaks!

    1. Ferris wheels! The return to high school dream… can you smell in your dream? Bubblegum and Loves Baby Soft, could always smell that… and dirty tennis shoes! We just got a couple kayaks for our family lake home. I’ve not tried one yet but this summer I certainly will! I will always love my canoe tho.😊

      1. Sometimes I can smell in my dreams! When I was on a medication a few years ago, I would almost always be aware in dreams that I was dreaming. Like, if something bad was happening in the dream, I would say to myself in the dream, “This is just a dream so everything is fine.” It was weird having that level of awareness while I was dreaming.

  10. Great idea!
    1. Yes, I’ve been on a ferris wheel. I love/hate being at the top. I’m afraid of heights, but I love seeing everything around me from the higher view.
    2. Recurring dream. My scary one is walking on a wooden and rope bridge and it breaking midway. I’m holding on for dear life to a plank that is quickly giving way and I start to fall. I wake up at that point. My happy recurring dream is one of flying and waking up with a deep sadness because it was only a dream. I always wondered the meaning behind them.
    3. Canoeing takes more hand strength than kayaking. I love to do both, but my hands do not.
    Very nice questions, indeed! Dawn

    1. Hi Dawn! Come answer quick question every Sunday! You are invited! I love learning about you! The Ferris wheel, I’m exactly the same, scared to death of heights bit I wanna see everything! Oh man, the scary dream, a rope bridge! I’d have a heart attack for real! Bummer you wake from the cool dream… being able to fly! Awesome! I need to learn to kayak. When the hubby and I canoe he mainly paddles… I just lay in the canoe and listen to the water… but when we need some speed, I’ll help paddle😉. Thanks Dawn!

  11. Ok, here goes…
    1. Yes, though it’s never, ever, ever, did I say never? Never happening again!! It was the worst experience of my life! I’m scared to death of heights as it is and I got stuck on the very top for like, well it felt like forever, and I swear it was all I could do to not pass out. Phew! I think I just relived it a bit…oh man! 😉
    2. Yes. I had this one for years when I was younger. I needed to get my family off of the roof of the house, but I never knew why. I could never seem to get my brother down before I would wake up.
    3. Hmmm? I don’t think I’ve ever canoed before.

    1. You were stuck at the top?!?! I’m afraid of heights too! I would’ve had a heart attack! Go on those basket ones only. Getting your brother off the roof. Your whole family was on the roof… crisis reoccurring dream! Try canoeing! Very relaxing, not at all like a Ferris wheel! Ha! Thanks Sierra! Come back Sundays to answer more. I so enjoy getting to know more about my tribe!😊💫

  12. 1. I don’t remember! I think so, cuz I went on so many rides as a youth, but things that go round and round make me ill, and I don’t like heights at all, so maybe not. If I have it was not a memorable experience, obviously, so there was no making out, frozen gears, or bird droppings. I think.

    2. Yes. Let me start by saying I don’t mind nightmares, at all. I wake up and marvel (snuck that word in!) at the complexity and imagination of the mind to come up with the storyline I had never thought of or imagined being a part of. I think nightmares are cool. That said, I do have the recurring type and they all have to do with home invasions whilst I am asleep. Stuff like I’m asleep, the doorbell rings, I yell at my wife “who would be coming by at this hour?!” she says “How would I know?!” and then someone is beating me with a golf club while I am trapped in the blankets. Those ones aren’t cool. At all.

    3. No ma’am. Water sports, in general, don’t amuse me. Since I don’t swim (see previous answer from previous week) I just don’t see the allure. I like pool parties, that’s about as much water as I enjoy. But I need a noodle. A noodle, a pool, and one of those floaty goose coasters for my beer and I’m a happy water guy. Canoeing sounds like work with a possible unhappy ending. Plus, where do you put the beer?

    1. Tom, Tom, Tom, I marvel (I got that in, too!) at how fast memory leaves men when there is no making out, equipment failure, or poop involved in an activity! No Ferris wheel for you! Um, getting beat up while in my own home is not my idea of a cool reoccurring dream. That’d be ‘uncool’ in fact! I must agree, the mind is an incredible muscle! It’s a shame not more use it! (What?!?!) yes. I said that. Tom, really? A noodle and a pool? That’s it? I imagine you out wind surfing in the Atlantic! Racing cigar boats with the men… at least canoeing… I can’t swim either and me and my noodle make it into a lake every summer! Well, the goose coaster sounds cool. I only have a flamingo. Thanks Tom! You’ve made my husband’s day glorious! I enjoyed it too. You rock!💫
